Her expertise spans teaching higher-level math and creative writing to high- potential learners, as well as identifying and nurturing talent in the arts and beyond. She has led the development of comprehensive cognitive, academic, and social-emotional programs at the school, district, and state levels.
Passionate about supporting underrepresented populations—especially twice-exceptional (2e) students—Julie believes in recognizing and responding to their unique intensities to cultivate lifelong learning. She’s excited to bring her experience to Lake Creek Academy, where she’s committed to helping students find their voice and advocate for the academic and emotional programming they deserve. Her guiding motto: “Bloom where you are planted.”
Julie holds a B.A. in Psychology and Elementary Education and an M.A. in Educational Leadership, both from the University of Colorado.
A Colorado native, Julie spends her weekends in Texas finding new ways to connect with nature. During the summer, she returns to Colorado to soak up the sunshine, camp under the stars, and fish for trout in high mountain lakes. This fall, you might find her in Texas fly fishing local ponds in The Woodlands, tossing a disc on the disc golf course, or walking the trails with her golden retriever, Rufus, alongside her husband and two children. A devoted college football fan, she’s always cheering on her Colorado Buffaloes—and can’t wait to see them take on Big 12 teams in Texas this fall.
